Our Specialized Services

Psychiatric Medication Management

Psychiatric medication is one option for treatment. We offer insights and resources to help you decide if medication is right for you. With your consent, we will collaborate with you or your child’s community partners (such as teachers, therapists, and other providers) to create and adjust an even more effective treatment plan.

Medication will not be prescribed to you on the day of intake. We allow time for reflection, consideration, and choice.

A psychiatric evaluation is required for all new patients. Our psychiatric evaluation service offers a comprehensive assessment of your mental health needs. We utilize a thorough and compassionate approach, combining clinical interviews, diagnostic testing, and with consent, collaboration with other healthcare providers. Our goal is to understand your unique situation, identify any underlying conditions, and create a personalized treatment plan. We provide clear communication, detailed feedback, and ongoing support to ensure you receive the most effective care tailored to your specific needs.

Compassion 1st offers patient-led therapy to address a range of mental health concerns or life challenges. This is provided in a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions.

Exposure Therapy

A type of behavior therapy that helps people overcome their fears of situations or objects

Humanistic Theory

Focuses on examining a patient's worldview and how it affects their everyday choices. It also deals with unraveling one's true self, processing others' criticism, and realizing self-acceptance.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT)

A short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts and actions. CBT aims to help people change thought patterns that lead to unhealthy or unproductive behaviors.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy
(IPT)

A talking treatment that helps people with depression identify and address problems in their relationships with family, partners, and friends.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

Similar to CBT, but DBT focuses more on regulating emotions, being mindful, and accepting uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. DBT helps people find a balance between change and acceptance.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

Used to treat PTSD, EMDR can reduce the emotional distress resulting from traumatic memories. If you are struggling with symptoms of PTSD, you are not alone. I too went through PTSD and was a successful recipient of EMDR. I was functioning in life again after 2 sessions. Unfortunately, I am not a trained provider for EMDR but I believe in it so much that I would like to encourage you to find a trained provider. I am here if you need someone who understands and can help by using other mental health modalities. I care about you.

Labs

We partner with trusted laboratories to facilitate a range of tests, from blood work to genetic screenings, helping to identify potential biological factors contributing to your mental health condition. By coordinating these essential tests, we provide you and your healthcare provider with valuable insights to inform and enhance your treatment plan.
